"pocahontas"

I have watched this movie last 3 day agos, I found that this movie is so interesting. The story shows the romance of Pocahontas and Captain John Smith, who leads a rag-tag band of English sailors and soldier to the new world. The story has been started when English colonists invade in 16th century Virginia. The first meeting of them seemed like a legendary story. In the other hand, the story also shows that the love of them have influenced to the change of theirs culture and native

In the story, Captain smith and his peoples come to Powhatan's village in peace but he said that there was much land to share. So, Powhatan felt really angry and he wanted to kill Smith but luckily Pocahontas asked her father to give Smith to her. In Pocahontas's tribe women could save a prisoner by asking for the prisoner to be given to them. Powhatan let Pocahontas have Smith because he thought the white men might attack if they killed him. Personally, I think this part of the movie would be the most impressive part.

After Pocahontas adopted Captain Smith, The people of Jamestown were growing sick because they had little to eat. Pocahontas helped John Smith's people by bringing food. The settlers sent, mirrors, bright copper, and beads for the food. Powhatan was not pleased with these gifts because he wanted guns.

Pocahontas heard her father say they would attack the white men after dark. Pocahontas ran through the woods to warn Captain Smith of her father's plan. As time went by the setters in Jamestown learned how the hunt and plant the fields from the friendly Indians, but Powhatan had forbidden Pocahontas to visit Jamestown.

Captain Smith returned to England when he was badly wounded from a gunpowder explosion. The Indians moved deeper into the woods that winter so they would be away from the white man.

Very good background movie on how America came to be.

Pocahontas was a real lady who did go back to England and took a look. She died before she got back to America.

Another Indian lady can be found in the movie Far Horizons. A Shoshone Indian lady saved the Lewis and Clark Expedition into the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase. That, too, is a good story.

The Eastern American Indians were totally different than the ones who lived on the plans. Eastern Indians had permanent homes and used many skills to raise gardens. They even had their own agreements with other tribes in the area. They introduced lots of new food delights to the "white people." Can you find some on the Internet? Did the "white people" bring anything over that was really, really bad, for the American Indians? They did. See if you can find out what is was.
