"singing in the rain"

In 1927, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a famous on-screen romantic pair. Lina, however, mistakes the on-screen romance for real love. Don has worked hard to get where he is today, with his former partner Cosmo. When Don and Lina's latest film is transformed into a musical, Don has the perfect voice for the songs. But Lina - well, even with the best efforts of a diction coach, they still decide to dub over her voice.
In my view of point, This film, I think, can be considered to be the greatest musical of all time. I just LOOOVED it! Gene Kelly's magic feet dance to catchy Jazz-Age tunes, there are colorful musical numers, and superb comedy. Kelly is so happy, so graceful, it's a pleasure to watch. the title song is an icon of classic Hollywood. I want to say that here's nothing *wrong* with this movie, but I don't think it's one of the greatest musicals of all time either. (I'd rate My Fair Lady, West Side Story, An American In Paris, The Sound of Music, just to name a few, as far superior.) The plot is pretty thin and slow to move.

Notice the dates of your bloggings. The last time was July 12th. Did you fall asleep :-).
Glad to see you wake up.
Your blog, like the movie, was very thin in substance. Come on, you can do better than this. Your summaries are very good but you have added nothing to let us see the American characteristics in the movie.
At least, you should have wrote about the coming of the talkie and what that meant to the movie industry. You simply left too many things out.
Do another blog and look for characteristics that we can call American? The phoniness of the Hollywood actress is a good starting point.
Now go do another blog about this movie.
